Shaking is a practice in which the child just bounces up and down, and shakes! That’s important because they have been, in a sense, locked into a state of trauma and defense. And in order to break that up so that it can change, we find that shaking helps. It breaks up the energy pattern of that defensive state and, in a sense, breaks them out of whatever they’ve been locked into.
